People often mistake bioidentical estrogen with compounded ones. Of course there are multiple bioidentical products that are approved by the FDA. On the other hand compounded products are the one that are custom mixed in the pharmaceutical centers. It does not mean that the pharmacist does it on his own will. Most often it is part of the bioidentical hormone treatment prescribed by the authorized physician. On the basis of the deficiency levels and blood tests the doses to be administered are decided. Some other doctors use saliva testing in bioidentical hormone therapy and also in the pre-treatment hormone levels adjusting the replacement doses.
